Hello

So.... a little about me and my work....

​

I graduated with a Fine Art Bachelor of Arts Degree (With Honours) from the University of Reading, Berkshire, UK in 1993

Since then I undertook commissioned portraits of people, dogs and horses (even the odd prize winning Jersey Cow!)

I did this along with working full time and raising my two sons here in South Wales.

​

I live in Port Talbot in South Wales, famous for its Steel Works and Hollywood actors, Richard Burton, Anthony Hopkins and Michael Sheen.

​

I am lucky to live on the seafront of Aberavon Beach, which  I try to walk along every day.

The beach is a magnificent long strip of flat sand that pans out from the drama of the Steel Works cranes right over to the beautiful Swansea Bay and the famous Mumbles, Swansea.

This has inspired me so much. Every day the weather changes, lending theatre to the sky with its dramatic changes in light. Sometimes, the light can change from one part of the beach to the other at a glance. I LOVE this! The atmosphere is quite emotive at times. The beach has inspired my work, as does nature and how we fit into the world.

Port Talbot has the other great advantage of having vast wooded valleys where I am inspired by its sublime scenery as I walk with my little adventurer, Betty Goodgirl, the Patterdale Terrier. The sense of freedom that I get from our walks in nature is indescribable, but it all lends itself to my artwork.

My other great passion is music, of pretty much all genres. It is a constant companion and so also greatly influences my work. It really is integral to my work, stirring up feelings, thoughts and ideas.

My recent series of work reflects this with realism portraiture of familiar music icons such as David Bowie, Siouxsie Sioux
